Updating Business Name’s Particulars

Updating nature of business

Following its registration, a business name may proceed with changes in relation to the nature of business.

The owner of the business name must notify the Registrar of Companies, by submitting the form for changes to the business name's particulars (form EE2) within seven (7) days from the date of change.

Registering change

You can submit the form for changes to the business name's particulars (form EE2), by hand/post, accompanied by:

  • the fee of forty euro (€40) and an additional fee of twenty euro (€20), in case you wish to accelerate the procedure.

The fees are payable in cash, by cheque, via an account maintained with the Department of the Registrar of Companies or by bank transfer.

You are advised to refer to the main criteria of review and most common reasons for rejection, so as to acquire a better understanding of what is required and to facilitate the process further.

Provided that the Registrar of Companies is satisfied that all, relevant to the circumstances, legal requirements have been met he will proceed with registering the change, and issuing the certificate of changes.

In the event that the business name requires proof of the change made in the business name's register, it may request to Obtaining Business Name’s Certified Copies.
