Updating EEIG's Particulars

Change of EEIG's name

Following registration, a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG) may change its name provided that the proposed name is not too similar to the name of an already existing business entity, includes words of phrases that are prohibited or is misleading or undesirable.

Registering change

Provided that the proposed name has been approved, form of notification of documents and details (form ΕΟΟΣ 4) may be submitted to the Registrar of Companies, by hand/post, accompanied by:

  • the amended contract of formation with the new name;
  • proof of members’ decision regarding the new name;
  • certified translation of the above mentioned documents, either by an affidavit or by sworn translator of the Republic of Cyprus, in case where the original document is in a language other than Greek.

It is noted that, no fee is required for filing the abovementioned form for registering the change of EEIG's name.

Provided the Registrar of Companies is satisfied that all legal requirements, depending on the case, have been met, proceeds with the filing of the change of name, the updating of its register and notifies the Publications Office of the European Union accordingly.

In the event that the EEIG requires proof of the change made in the register, it may request to obtain certified copies of the change.
